OVERVIEW

Hasbro has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and professional Paralegal with 3+ years of experience to join our Legal Department in Rhode Island. This position is a key part of the legal team that supports Hasbro’s global brand marketing and development groups. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to understand and effectively deal with a variety of legal issues and materials related to the design, development, manufacture, licensing, marketing and advertising of Hasbro’s products. This position works closely with senior Hasbro legal and business professionals and communicates regularly with outside parties. Good interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, proactive “can do” attitude, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor are paramount.

JOB DUTIES

• Provide legal support for Hasbro’s glob! al marketing, sales, product design and development, concept a! cquisition and creative services groups
• Work on a broad range of legal-related matters, including intellectual property, licensing, contract interpretation, advertising, promotions, social media, privacy and regulatory compliance
• Daft and negotiate a variety of contracts, including licenses, option agreements, non-disclosure agreements, promotion agreements and consulting agreements
• Review and advise on product packaging and all manner of advertising and marketing materials, including television commercials, print ads, digital media campaigns, websites, contests, sweepstakes and other promotions
• Respond to legal-related inquiries regarding contracts, products and messaging
• Work directly with and communicate legal issues succinctly to Hasbro attorneys and business professionals and anticipate follow-up needs
• Partner with attorneys and clients to proactively identify and further business strategies in transactions
Assist attorneys in providing client education and training on relevant legal issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training Required:

• 3+ years relevant experience in law firm and/or in-house law department
• Associate’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred; Bachelor’s Degree also a significant plus
Critical Skills:

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of attorneys and business managers from different disciplines
• Flexibility and willingness to navigate areas of unfamiliarity
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize substantial and diverse workload and complete tasks within deadlines
• Comfort with a fast-paced creative environment is essential
• Experience with licensing agreements, intellectual property (especially ! copyright and trademark) and/or advertising law preferred
• Prio! r in-house experience a plus
