The Washington Trust Company is seeking an experienced, self motivated individual for a role in new business development with our Wealth Management grou! p. The ideal candidate will posses a strong knowledge of investment management, financial planning and trust services. The position will market our wealth management services to prospective and existing clients.
The position will initiate contacts for developing and closing new investment management, financial planning and trust business. This may include meeting with prospects to explain the company's wealth management services, discussing the advantages of proper planning, and obtaining background data to determine the appropriate services. The position will need to cultivate and maintain relationships with various centers of influence including life underwriters, attorneys, and accountants and will participate in community activities to enhance the position of the company, increase visibility and develop new referral sources. S/he may also conduct or coordinate seminars on a variety of wealth management topics.
We require a Bachelor’s degree in busine! ss or finance, proficient MS Office and internet research skil! ls, and excellent communication skills. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience in the financial services industry and be comfortable with initiating contact and giving presentations.
