Responsible for developing and maintaining contacts with real estate brokers, financial planners, builders and other various real estate sources within the Bank’s primary market area in order to originate residential real estate loans.
Develop and follow up on leads and referrals generated from Bank staff, contacts, i.e. brokers, financial planners, attorneys, builders, current applicants, past customers, relatives, friends, etc.
Meet with potential applicants to assess their financing needs, educate them about the home buying process, answer their questions and pre-qualify them under various lending programs.
Meet with applicants to complete the application and collect the necessary documentation needed to start the application process. Ensure applications are as complete as possible. Follow up with applicants to ensure their questions are answered and any problems are dealt with as soon as possible.
Work with loan pr! ocessor and other individuals associated with the loan process! to ensure a timely loan approval and closing.
Participate in real estate/home buying seminars, Realtor open houses, Realtor sales meetings and other special events which would promote the Bank and its lending programs.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years commissioned Real Estate financing sales experience with a proven track record of successful loan origination and funding. An existing client base of real estate agents, builders, and other industry professionals is required. The candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and written communications a well as, provide excellent customer service.
Minimum of 3 years experience in Mortgage Lending required Must have strong knowledge of various loan products including: FHA, VA, and Rhode Island Housing and portfolio programs. Knowledge of FNMA and secondary market guidelines. Extensive knowledge of mortgage application procedures including disclosures, GFE, TIL, HMDA and RESPA requireme! nts. Ability to work independently. Self-motivated. Effective written and verbal communication skills Effective in establishing business partnerships (Retail Banking) Excellent Sales and Consulting skills PC Literacy including; Word, Excel, e-mail and Internet including, Loan Origination Systems. Bi-lingual Spanish helpful.
