- Provide legal support for Hasbroâs Global Consumer Products Group business unit, including advising on deal structure, drafting and negotiating a variety of out-license agreements for third party uses of Hasbroâs intellectual property rights, including in connection with a wide variety of consumer products, retail venues, food/beverage service companies, publishing, and live entertainment events.
- Partner with clients to proactively identify and further business strategies in complex, quick-moving transactions and advise them from deal conception to product line execution.
- Work directly with senior management in connection with legal issues, priorities and anticipate follow-up needs.
- Provide client education and training on relevant legal topics.
- Work with other attorneys and paralegals globally on group/departmental and/or ad hoc projects as required.
- J.D. from accredited law school, excellent academic credentials.
- Bar membership in good standing.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house law department
- Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of intellectual property transactions.
- A significant plus is licensing experience, whether representing licensors or licensees, and whether involving characters, brands, copyrights, trademarks, patents, technology, hardware and/or software.
- Consumer products related advertising and digital marketing law experience a plus.
- Ability to engage in practical ev aluations and explanations of risks and engage in collaborative problem-solving.
- Understanding of intellectual property laws and issues, especially copyright, trademark and rights of publicity (but patent also a plus).
- Ability to work effectively with team members from different disciplines and to interact well with members of senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize substantial and diverse workload and complete tasks within deadlines.
