We are actively looking for an individual with significant experience working with adolescents, preferably with adolescents with mental health and behavioral disorders, to work as a PAS! S Worker for a young man in his home and community in the Newport area.

PASS (Personal Assistance Services and Supports) is a consumer directed service provided across the state of Rhode Island. PASS is provided in the home and community settings to assist and support children with activities of daily living, making self-preserving/safety decisions, and participating in social situations. The family/guardian of the child interviews, trains, and supervises all Direct Service Workers. Positions are part-time non-benefit eligible and can be anywhere from 3 to 20 hours a week, mostly during after school and weekend hours. The pay range is $10 -- 12.73 an hour based on experience and highest level of education.

Job Duties:

  • Implementing a Service Plan that is developed by the child's family and a PASS agency.
  • Providing guidance and redirection.
  • Providing opportunities for social interactions.
  • Keeping progress notes ! on Service Plan goals.
  • Providing information to the f! amily on Service Plan goals.
Requirements:
  • Over 18 years of age (proof of age verified) with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meets transportation requirements (No history of DWI, a year free of vehicle accidents, appropriate vehicle insurance, valid vehicle registration, and valid state inspection sticker).
  • Has no legal obligation and does not live in the same household of the child that will be supported.
  • Has to complete and pass CPR and First Aide Training within one month of employment (PASS agency provides training).
  • Will initiate a National BCI by being fingerprinted at a local police station or Attorney General's office.
  • Will allow agency to run a BCI check and DCYF CANTS clearance check.
