Attorney The candidate will provide legal support for firm s global marketing, sales, and pro! duct development groups related to the firm, including the Family/Adult Games and Boys Games lines. Will counsel clients on a broad range of legal issues, including intellectual property, licensing, marketing, advertising, promotions, digital rights, and contract interpretation. Facilitate internal policy creation and implementation. Provide client education and training on relevant legal issues. Have primary responsibility for promotional matters (including sweepstakes) affecting the firm, as well as broader promotions affecting a wide range of firm product lines. Work directly with, and communicate legal issues succinctly to, senior executives, and anticipate follow-up needs. Work with key clients to proactively identify and further business strategies in transactions. Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including in-licenses, consulting and development agreements, marketing and promotions agreements, permissions, distribution agreements, and work for hire agreem! ents. Review and advise on product packaging, advertising and ! marketing materials, including television commercials, digital media campaigns, contests, sweepstakes, and other promotions. Oversee and maintain firm s record retention program, ensuring the prompt destruction of documents and other records that have reached the specified retention period, and implementing appropriate retention periods for different types of documents.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school, excellent academic credentials, State Bar membership in good standing. Should have 3-7 years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house law department. Experience with licensing and/or promotional agreements preferred. Prior in-house experience a plus. Understanding of intellectual property, especially copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws, as well as marketing and promotional law needed.
