Shechtman Halperin Savage, LLP has an opening in its Foreclosure department for a full time mediation paralegal. Primary responsibilities and qualifications are listed below. Interested candidates should submit their resume and cover letter.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Responsible for opening mediation referrals Preparation of cover letters and forwarding of financial packets to defendants to complete and return Responsible for consulting with defendants on mediator selections Discuss mediation obligations with defendants, mediators and clients on daily basis Responsible for receipt of overnight packages and documenting / scanning of contents into appropriate electronic file Responsible for reviewing financial packets and submitting to clients Responsible for ! updating mediation processes and uploading documents to requir! ed websites Preparation of cover letters and envelopes for filing of documents with court and forwarding of same to courts for filing Responsible for requesting fee approvals as needed Responsible for processing of all mailings on a daily basis Responsible for scanning and uploading of all incoming and outgoing mail
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in paralegal studies and/or certificate in paralegal studies preferred but not required · Must be highly confidential to protect the client’s privacy rights
- Team-player, capable of working independently and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
- Strong organizational skills with advanced problem solving, ability to multitask and detail oriented skills
- Ability to read legal terms and conditions and understand their meaning and how it applies to work processes
- Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills verbally and through written electronic corres! pondence
