Prepare and file proof of claim (POC) upon receipt of debtorâs notification of bankruptcy. Preparation includes confirmation of rem! aining balances on loan account, amount delinquent and due dates to ensure RBS will receive all funds due through the bankruptcy trustee.
Prepare reaffirmation and send to attorney
Review bankruptcy plan and object if necessary. Maintain current knowledge of new laws and regulations, state, federal, investor guidelines to minimize litigation and RBS losses.
Keeping abreast of changing state and federal BK laws/rules
Assist implement new/changing BK laws/rules
Suggest best practices or recommend workflow automation and changes
Monitor file for post petition defaults. Negotiate with attorney to develop strategy for repayment arrangements with debtor. Follow up on consent order to minimize losses.
Handle (more complex) bankruptcy related correspondence, phone calls, emails and tasks promptly to avoid any customer complaints.
Reconcile more complicated accounts
File signed reaffirmation with courts! electronically. Make sure all necessary documents are attache! d to the reaffirmations to ensure RBS legal rights to pursue future defaults.
Train or mentor new BK colleagues
Travel and testify in state and federal BK courts
Supervisor back-up when the supervisor is out of the office
Bankruptcy Specialist works with the foreclosure, loss mitigation, escrow analysis, taxes and the insurance department communicating the bankruptcy status. They ensure Proof of Claims are filed correctly and all aspects of the bankruptcy are handled according to investor guidelines and time-frames. They are the first point of contact for bankruptcy attorney and customers in bankruptcy.
The Bankruptcy specialist II ensures that RBS-Citizens abide by all state and federal bankruptcy rules/laws. They ensure that RBS-Citizens is not sanctioned by any states or federal organizations for failure to maintain bankruptcy time-frames.
Qualifications
High School or Equivalent Required
Associate D! egree Preferred
Bachelor Degree Preferred
Superior time management skills and effective multitasking process management. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, emphasis on telephone techniques; PC word processing, CRT data entry; typing; problem solving and counseling skills; accuracy; math aptitude; attention to detail.
Minimum 5 year experience in mortgage banking, real estate, or law that includes exposure to mortgage default and/or bankruptcy.

Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
