Shechtman Halperin Savage, LLP has an opening for a Civil Litigation/Eviction Paralegal with a focus in the area of residential evictions. Primary responsibilities and qualifications are listed below. Interested candidates should submit their resume and cover letter.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring each matter is progressing toward a timely resolution
- Handling general client communication and responding to status inquiries
- Assisting with motion practice and discovery work for litigated matters
- Managing eviction court coverage calendar for several attorneys in states of practice
- Overseeing and directing eviction legal assistant who will provide clerical assistance
- Monitoring and ! updating of lender / servicer websites to ensure compliance
The candidate must be well versed in civil procedure and be able to learn and understand the rules of all six New England States. Associate’s degree in paralegal studies and/or certificate in paralegal studies preferred · Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills verbally and through written electronic correspondence
- Strong organizational skills with advanced problem solving, ability to multitask and detail oriented skills
- Ability to read legal terms and conditions and understand their meaning and how it applies to work processes
- Must be highly confidential to protect the client’s privacy rights
- Team-player, capable of working independently and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
