Job Type: Full Time Position Summary:
This is a salaried position located in the General Liability Unit.! Applicants must meet the following criteria.
Accountabilities:
This position is accountable for the investigation, negotiation, and resolution of non-litigated general liability claims. This position also is responsible for the budgetary considerations in setting reserves, including bodily injury and expenses, and determining all possible third parties, insurance carrier involvement, and notifications which arise from the handling of these potential claims.
- Investigate general liability cases with larger exposures. This requires extensive interaction with internal departments, management, field employees, and customers and attorneys to determine facts of the loss through investigation and interaction with all of the above parties, to ensure timely handling and resolution of claims.
- Review/interpretation of medical reports to determine causal relationship and assist in evaluation of the claim.
- Make vendor referrals as ! needed for independent medical exams, field investigation and ! surveillance.
- Evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers and/or their attorneys on behalf of CVS.
- Recognition and referral of potential subrogation cases.
- Maintain high levels of customer service.
- Recognize and refer potential high exposure cases to CVS management and the appropriate insurance carrier. Required Qualifications:
Experience in handling general liability bodily injury / product claims Education:
Bachelors degree in a related f! ield or working towards a bachelors degree in a related field. AIC, ARM, CPCU, or other insurance degree preferred or working towards such designation and/or degree. Business Overview:
