The franchise has been instrumental in the consistent growth, from one Panera Bread bakery-cafe in 2000 in Cranston, RI to 24 throughout Rhode lsland, Connecticut, and southeastern Massachusetts today. Howley Bread Group plans to expand to 33 bakery-cafes by 2015.This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and Training and will have overall responsibility for Employee Relations, policies and procedures, and benefits.Key Responsibilities: Assist Director of Human Resource to plan, develop, and implement strategy for Human Resources. Associate relations including harassment and discrimination investigation, correct interpretation and consistent application of company policies, disciplinary action and documentation. Provide HR support to management team. Insure compliance to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, I-9 regulations, federal and state labor laws, and company policies. Development, implementation, and updating of company policies. Workers Compensation including handling, filing, and tracking of work related injuries; interaction with WC carriers, providers, and attorneys. Develop, update, and oversee safety programs and procedures with the continuing goal of reducing work related injuries. Leaves of Absence including documentation, determination of eligibility, monitoring length of absences, and notification to necessary supervisor and payroll. Oversee File Administration including new hire files for hourly associates by state and exempt associates, maintaining active personnel files for managers and bakers, terminated files for all employees, and file storage in Iron Mountain storage facility. Process benefits enrollments and changes for eligible population, interact with insurance broker as necessary, manage annual open enrollment. Oversee Service Recognition Programs. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Extensive knowledge of effective Human Resources practices Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Complete understanding of the importance of confidentiality and integrity in all areas of HR. Ability to multi-task. Must be adept in the use of MS Office software and HRIS systems Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
