General Statement of Duties :
The Financial Reporting Analyst is primarily responsible to prepare routine and ad hoc reports to analyze the results of operations; to review selected accounting processes and develop/ implement ideas to improve financial reporting, productivity and internal controls; and to monitor/reconcile transacti! on activity in selected general ledger accounts.
D! uties & Responsibilities :
§ Prepares routine and ad hoc reports on the financial results and key operating statistics of the firm, departments, etc. Analyzes and interprets data and explains unusual trends and results.
§ Key point of contact for outside independent CPA firm in conducting the annual audit. Prepare all necessary audit work papers, draft firm financial statements and footnotes and keep the audit process on schedule.
§ Reviews accounting processes and develops/implements ideas to improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, as well as productivity and internal controls.
§ Conducts compliance audits by determining whether prescribed accounting policies and procedures are being followed by the staff.
§ Reconciles and/or monitors activity in selected general ledger accounts. Resolves any older reconciliation items or explains unusual transactions promptly.
§ Prepares law firm surveys and analyzes the results for su! bmission to senior management.
§ Documents processes and procedures.
§ Performs other tasks and projects as needed.
Education & Experience :
§ Bachelorâs Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
§ At least 2 years of related experience. Public Accounting experience is a plus.
§ Strong experience with Microsoft Office (particularly with Excel) and database.
§ Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
§ The ability to deal with and prioritize multiple tasks and respond quickly to changing priorities.
§ Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, when required, to meet upcoming deadlines.
§ Available for occasional out-of-town business travel.
