With minimal supervision and considerable latitude for independent judgment and discretion, this position is responsible for providing advanced Human Resources support to a populat! ion of 200+ employees in the areas of staffing, benefits, compensation, training, employee relations and safety. Additionally, this position is responsible for developing and administering human resources policies and procedures aligned with federal, state and local laws.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: On an ongoing basis, relies on advanced knowledge of employment law, experience and good judgment to quickly and efficiently resolve all employee relations issues at the location(s) for which this position is responsible. This may involve but is not limited to preparing and approving Performance Improvement Plans, and conducting employee meetings, internal investigations, external investigations and exit interviews. On a regular basis, works proactively with department heads to ensure and maintain appropriate staffing levels. This may involve but is not limited to sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates, collaborating with an immigration attorney, creating offer letters and conduct! ing new hire orientation meetings. Develops and refines organi! zation-wide and site-specific Human Resources policies and practices as needed and/or directed to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and improve/maintain the quality of WageWorks culture. Responds to employee and manager questions about the Companys benefits and compensation plans and programs in a manner that supports the organizations culture of open communications and drive for excellence in customer service. Proactively works with department heads on a monthly basis to ensure employees have effective tools and training to support successful work performance. May plan and initiate resource and allocation activities for HR support staff. This includes ongoing responsibility for personnel actions that include but are not limited to hiring and scheduling employees; training and evaluating employees; coaching, counseling and managing performance; and making salary, merit or other pay increase recommendations. This position may also make recommendations and/! or take corrective action to manage performance as appropriate. Conducts special projects as requested or apparent. Projects may be of a complex nature and entail advanced knowledge and understanding of a particular area within the Human Resources arena. Maintains an awareness and currency of Human Resources principles, practices and the related regulatory environment. This may involve attending advanced training sessions or meetings in which information is imparted and discussed. This may also entail participation with and maintenance of memberships with professional work groups; attending trainings, seminars, and other business-related conferences; and interfacing with peers.
Education: Knowledge of Human Resources theories, practices and principles and the related regulatory environment as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or Organizational Development. A professional certification in Human R! esources is desirable although not required.Work Experience or Related ! Experience: The ability to provide advanced Human Resources support as described as normally obtained through six â" seven years of progressively responsible HR generalist experience. Experience in a lead or supervisory role is strongly preferred.Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to maximize relationships, build trust, communicate effectively is required to analyze HR issues and provide information, direction and advice as described. Good technical knowledge of human resources and its role within the business. Excellent knowledge of the related regulatory environment including but limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC etc. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and the ability to deal effectively and courteously with all levels of employees and management are required. Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills are required to provide employee relations support as described. The ability to handle and maintain a high level o! f confidentiality and common sense regarding sensitive employee information is necessary. Good planning, time management, prioritization, and organizational skills are essential. The ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities under pressure and within restricted timeframes is required.
